The California Department of Education is Strengthening the Balance in Its Ethnic Studies

Proposed changes to the California curriculum to strengthen the Ethnic Studies include rewording and creating new lessons that include a broader spectrum of ethnic groups. The goal is to educate students on achievements by various ethnic and religious groups. The California State Superintendent of Public Instruction noted the curriculum updates will promote conversations of additional groups “whose stories need to be told.”
